Ingredients

  • 4 fresh pears, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1 package ready-made pie crust

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a large bowl, combine the sliced pears, sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice.

  3. Mix well until the pears are evenly coated.

  4. Roll out one pie crust and place it into a 9-inch pie dish.

  5. Pour the pear mixture into the pie crust.

  6. Dot the top of the pie with the small pieces of butter.

  7. Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filling.

  8. Seal the edges of the pie crusts together and cut a few slits on the top crust to allow steam to escape.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.

  10. Allow the pie to cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

  11. Serve warm or at room temperature.
