How To Make Raspberry Jam Doughnuts

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup raspberry jam
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

Heat the milk in the microwave until warm, then add it to the dry ingredients along with the melted butter and vanilla extract. Stir until a sticky dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes, until smooth and elastic.

Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a ball.

Take each ball and flatten it slightly. Place 1 tsp of raspberry jam in the center, then pinch the edges together to seal it.

Place the filled doughnuts on a greased baking sheet and cover with a kitchen towel. Let them rise for another 15-20 minutes.

Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C).

Fry the doughnuts, 2-3 at a time, for about 2 minutes per side, until golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Dust the warm doughnuts with powdered sugar before serving.
