Preparation: 5 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 15 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of brewed espresso or strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons of sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until hot, but not boiling.

  2. Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Allow to sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth.

  3. Stir in the brewed espresso, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.

  4. Return the saucepan to low heat and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.

  5. Remove from heat and let cool to desired temperature. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.

  6. Drizzle over desserts, swirl into coffee, or use as a dipping sauce. Enjoy!
