How To Make Hot Chocolate Espresso Sauce
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup of semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of brewed espresso or strong coffee
- 2 tablespoons of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- Pinch of salt
Instructions
-
In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until hot, but not boiling.
-
Remove from heat and add the chocolate chips. Allow to sit for a minute, then whisk until smooth.
-
Stir in the brewed espresso, sugar, vanilla extract, and salt until well combined.
-
Return the saucepan to low heat and cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Remove from heat and let cool to desired temperature. The sauce will thicken further as it cools.
-
Drizzle over desserts, swirl into coffee, or use as a dipping sauce. Enjoy!
