Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with liners.

  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, cream cheese, and sugar until smooth.

  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the cream cheese mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the dry ingredients.

  6. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.

  7. Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling them about 3/4 full.

  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean.

  9. Remove from the oven and let cool completely before frosting.
