How To Make Toffee Apple Pops
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 apples
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup water
- 1/4 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Sprinkles or chopped nuts (optional)
- 4 popsicle sticks
Instructions
-
Wash and dry the apples. Remove the stems and insert a popsicle stick into the center of each apple.
-
In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.
-
Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil. Continue to boil, without stirring, until the caramel reaches a dark amber color, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat.
-
Carefully dip each apple into the caramel, swirling and twirling to coat it evenly. Allow any excess caramel to drip off before placing the apple on a greased baking sheet.
-
Optional: Roll the coated apples in sprinkles or chopped nuts before the caramel sets.
-
Let the toffee apple pops cool and harden completely before serving.
