How To Make Toffee Apple Pops

Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 apples
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Sprinkles or chopped nuts (optional)
  • 4 popsicle sticks

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry the apples. Remove the stems and insert a popsicle stick into the center of each apple.

  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sugar, water, and corn syrup. Stir over medium heat until the sugar has dissolved.

  3. Increase the heat to high and bring the mixture to a boil. Continue to boil, without stirring, until the caramel reaches a dark amber color, about 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat.

  4. Carefully dip each apple into the caramel, swirling and twirling to coat it evenly. Allow any excess caramel to drip off before placing the apple on a greased baking sheet.

  5. Optional: Roll the coated apples in sprinkles or chopped nuts before the caramel sets.

  6. Let the toffee apple pops cool and harden completely before serving.
