Ingredients

  • 150g dark chocolate
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 eggs, separated
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream and chocolate shavings for garnish

Instructions

  1. Melt the dark chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over simmering water, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

  2. In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar until thick and pale. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  3. Gradually pour the melted chocolate mixture into the egg yolk mixture, stirring until well combined.

  4. In another bowl, beat the egg whites and salt until stiff peaks form.

  5. Gently fold the egg whites into the chocolate mixture, followed by the heavy cream.

  6. Pour the mixture into individual serving dishes and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set.

  7. Before serving, garnish with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.
