How To Make Tunisian Semolina Bread

A traditional bread made with semolina flour that has a fluffy texture and is perfect for dipping in soups and stews.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of semolina flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tbsp of yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups of warm water
  • Olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the semolina flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

  2. Slowly pour in the warm water while mixing until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough for 10 minutes until it becomes smooth.

  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.

  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F.

  6. Brush olive oil on a baking sheet.

  7. Cut the dough into 4 equal parts and shape into round loaves or oval shape.

  8. Place the loaves onto the greased baking sheet.

  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the bread is golden brown.

  10. Serve warm and enjoy!
