Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk powder
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons ghee
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • Oil for frying
  • Chopped pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the milk powder, all-purpose flour, and baking powder.

  2. Add ghee and mix well to form a crumbly texture.

  3. Gradually add milk while kneading the mixture into a soft and smooth dough.

  4. Divide the dough into small, smooth balls and set aside.

  5. In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring it to a boil and let it simmer for 5 minutes, until the syrup thickens slightly.

  6. Add cardamom powder to the syrup and mix well.

  7. Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat.

  8. Fry the dough balls in hot oil until they turn golden brown.

  9. Remove the fried Gulab Jamuns from the oil and transfer them directly into the warm syrup.

  10. Allow the Gulab Jamuns to soak in the syrup for at least 30 minutes before serving.

  11. Garnish with chopped pistachios and serve hot or cold.
