How To Make Dutch Poffertjes Recipe

Fluffy and mini pancakes that will melt in your mouth.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of flour
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of sugar
  • 1 tsp of yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups of warm milk
  • 1 egg
  • Butter or oil for cooking
  • Powdered sugar for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, salt, sugar, and yeast.

  2. Slowly add warm milk while stirring the mixture.

  3. Add egg and mix until the batter is smooth.

  4. Cover the bowl with a cloth and leave it in a warm place for 30 minutes.

  5. Heat a Poffertjes pan or a non-stick mini pancake pan on medium heat.

  6. Brush pan with butter or oil and add batter using a small spoon.

  7. Cook until bubbles form on the surface and flip.

  8. Cook for a minute on the other side.

  9. Remove from the pan and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

  10. Serve hot with additional powdered sugar or syrup.
