How To Make Waffle House Smothered and Covered Recipe

Golden, crispy waffles smothered in melty cheese and covered in sautéed onions.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups of waffle mix
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp of butter

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron.

  2. Mix waffle mix and water in a large bowl until smooth.

  3. Pour the batter into the waffle iron.

  4. While waffles are cooking, melt butter in a large pan over medium heat and sauté sliced onions for 5-7 minutes until caramelized.

  5. Once waffles are done, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top and pour sautéed onions on top.

  6. Serve hot and enjoy!
