Ingredients

  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Peel and boil potatoes until tender. Mash and cool.

  2. In a pan, cook onion and garlic until soft. Add ground beef and cook until browned.

  3. Stir in tomato paste, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Remove from heat.

  4. Form a ball of mashed potatoes. Make a small well in the center and fill with beef mixture. Cover with more mashed potatoes and form into a ball.

  5. Dip each ball in beaten eggs, then coat with breadcrumbs.

  6. Heat oil in a pan and fry balls until golden brown.

  7. Drain on paper towels and serve hot.
