How To Make Friendly’s Big Beef Chili Recipe

Hearty beef chili filled with beans, spices and tomatoes, finished off with a dollop of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 cans of kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can of diced tomatoes with green chilies
  • 2 cups of water
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.

  2. Add in chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic. Cook for 5-7 minutes until vegetables are softened.

  3. Stir in kidney beans, diced tomatoes with green chilies, water, chili powder, cumin, oregano, salt, and black pepper.

  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1.5-2 hours, stirring occasionally.

  5. Serve hot with a dollop of sour cream and some shredded cheddar cheese on top.
