  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  2. Slowly add in the warm water and mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough for a few minutes until it becomes smooth.

  4. Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and shape each portion into a ball.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 375°F (190°C).

  6. Flatten each ball of dough into a round disc, about ¼ inch thick.

  7. Carefully place the dough discs into the hot oil and fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they become golden brown and crispy.

  8. Remove the fry bread from the oil and drain on paper towels.

  9. Serve hot with your favorite toppings or use it as a base for dishes like Navajo Tacos or Indian Tacos.
