  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 package active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 3 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whole wheat flour, all-purpose flour, and yeast.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warm water, honey, vegetable oil, and salt.

  3. Slowly add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

  4. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5 minutes.

  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size.

  6. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  7. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place the loaf in a greased bread pan.

  8. Cover the bread pan with the kitchen towel and let the dough rise for another 30 minutes.

  9. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until it sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  10. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool on a wire rack before slicing.
