  • 4 large russet potatoes
  • 4 hot dogs
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, chopped onions, ketchup, mustard, etc.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Wash and scrub the potatoes, then pierce them with a fork.

  3. Microwave the potatoes for 5 minutes on high or until they are slightly tender.

  4. Remove the potatoes from the microwave and let them cool for a few minutes.

  5. Slice each potato lengthwise, creating a slit large enough to hold a hot dog.

  6. Brush the potatoes with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  7. Place a hot dog into each potato slit.

  8. Bake the potato dogs on a baking sheet for about 25-30 minutes or until the potatoes are crispy and golden brown.

  9. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
