Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/3 cup apple cider
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tbsp butter, melted
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix together apple cider, sugar, egg, and melted butter until well combined.

  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a thick batter forms.

  4. Preheat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.

  5. Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to drop dough into the hot oil. Fry for 1-2 minutes on each side until golden brown.

  6. Remove doughnuts with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
