How To Make Baked Ham Hock Pots

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 ham hocks
  • 2 onions, diced
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 tsp rosemary
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. In a large pot, add the ham hocks, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, bay leaf, thyme, rosemary, and chicken broth. Season with salt and pepper.

  3. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. Remove the pot from the heat and transfer the contents to individual oven-safe pots or a baking dish.

  5. Cover the pots or baking dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2 hours, or until the meat is tender and falling off the bone.

  6. Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.

  7. Serve the baked ham hock pots hot, with some of the cooking liquid spooned over the top.
