How To Make Rhubarb Chutney Recipe

A tangy and sweet chutney made with fresh rhubarb that pairs well with almost anything.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 4 cups rhubarb, chopped
  • 1 cup red onion, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp mustard seeds
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, combine all the ingredients and stir well.

  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat.

  3. Reduce the heat to low and let the chutney simmer for 45-50 minutes or until the rhubarb has softened and the chutney has thickened.

  4. Let the chutney cool down to room temperature before serving.
