Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 20 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 16 asparagus spears
  • 4 large eggs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim the woody ends of the asparagus spears and steam them until tender, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside.

  2. Bring a pot of water to a boil and carefully add the eggs. Let them cook for 6 minutes for a soft-boiled consistency.

  3. While the eggs are cooking, prepare a bowl of ice water. Once the eggs are done, transfer them to the ice water to stop the cooking process.

  4. Carefully peel the eggs and cut off the tops to reveal the soft yolks.

  5. Season the asparagus soldiers with salt and pepper.

  6. Serve the soft-boiled eggs with the seasoned asparagus soldiers for dipping.
