Ingredients

  • 1 cup dried pinto beans
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 green bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Rinse and sort the pinto beans, then place them in a slow cooker.

  2. Add the cooked bacon, onion, garlic, bell pepper, jalapeno pepper, diced tomatoes, ketchup, barbecue sauce, brown sugar, chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper to the slow cooker.

  3. Stir everything together, making sure the beans are fully submerged.

  4. Cook on low heat for 6 hours or until the beans are tender.

  5. Serve hot and enjoy!
