How To Make Lone Star Cowboy Beans Recipe
Hearty beans slow-cooked with bacon, ground beef, and spices in a rich tomato sauce.

Ingredients
- 6 slices bacon, diced
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cans (15 oz. each) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 oz.) black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp cumin
- salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions

In a large pot or Dutch oven, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

Add ground beef and onion to the same pot and cook until beef is browned and onion is softened.

Add drained beans, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and spices to the pot. Stir to combine.

Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer, covered, for 1-2 hours, stirring occasionally.

Serve hot, topped with cooked bacon.
