Ingredients

  • 2.5 lbs chicken bones
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 2 carrots, roughly chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, roughly chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Water, enough to cover the ingredients

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken bones, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, bay leaves, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black peppercorns in a slow cooker.

  2. Pour enough water to cover all the ingredients in the slow cooker.

  3. Cook on low heat for 8 hours.

  4. After 8 hours, remove the chicken bones and strain the broth to remove any solids.

  5. Let the broth cool down and skim off any excess fat on the surface.

  6. Store the chicken bone broth in airtight containers and refrigerate for up to 5 days or freeze for longer storage.
