Ingredients

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1-inch ginger, grated
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add the chopped onions. Cook until they turn golden brown.

  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger. Cook for another 2 minutes.

  3. Add the tomato puree and cook until the oil separates from the masala.

  4. Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, and salt. Mix well.

  5. Add the prawns and cook for 5-7 minutes or until they are cooked through.

  6. Sprinkle garam masala and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

  7. Serve hot with rice or naan.
