How To Make Prawn & Pea Korma

Ingredients

  • 1 lb prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they become translucent.

  2. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pan and cook for another minute.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the ground turmeric, cumin, coriander, and chili powder. Add this spice mixture to the pan and stir well to coat the onions, garlic, and ginger.

  4. Add the prawns to the pan and cook until they turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.

  5. Stir in the frozen peas and coconut milk. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, or until the peas are cooked through.

  6. Season with salt to taste.

  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
