- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tbsp yellow mustard
- 1 tbsp sweet pickle relish
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 4 sesame seed buns
- 4 slices cheddar cheese
- Shredded lettuce
- Sliced pickles
- Thinly sliced onion

In a bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix well and shape into 8 patties.

In a separate bowl, mix mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, vinegar, sugar, salt, and black pepper to make the special sauce.
