  • 500g prawns, peeled and deveined
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1-inch piece of ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until they turn translucent.

  2. Add the garlic and ginger and cook for another minute.

  3. Add the curry powder, cumin powder, and turmeric powder. Stir well to combine.

  4. Add the prawns to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes, until they turn pink and opaque.

  5. Pour in the coconut milk and simmer for 2-3 minutes, until the flavors meld together.

  6. Season with salt to taste and garnish with fresh cilantro.

  7. Serve hot with steamed rice or naan bread.
