How To Make Mom’s Favorite Baked Mac and Cheese

Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp paprika
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bring a pot of salted water to a boil.

Cook the macaroni according to the package instructions, then drain and set aside.

In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour, salt, black pepper, and paprika until well combined.

Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a simmer.

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth.

In a baking dish, combine the cooked macaroni and cheese sauce, stirring until the pasta is evenly coated.

Top with the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
