Ingredients

  • 2 pounds pork shoulder, cut into cubes
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp ground cloves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat. Add pork cubes and cook until browned on all sides.

  2. Remove pork and set aside. Add onion and garlic to the Dutch oven and sauté until softened.

  3. Add apple cider, chicken broth, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, ground cloves, and salt and pepper to taste. Bring to a simmer.

  4. Return pork to the Dutch oven and cover. Place in oven at 350°F and braise for about 2 hours or until pork is tender.

  5. Serve hot with your desired sides.
