How To Make Lemongrass Beef Stir-Fry

This dish features tender beef infused with the refreshing aroma of lemongrass, complemented by crispy vegetables.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound beef flank steak, sliced thinly against the grain
  • 2 stalks of lemongrass, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 small onion, sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, sliced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro leaves, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the beef with lemongrass, garlic, soy sauce, fish sauce, and brown sugar. Marinate for 10 minutes.

  2. Heat the oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add the onion and stir-fry for 1 minute.

  3. Add the marinated beef to the wok and stir-fry for 2-3 minutes, until browned.

  4. Add the bell peppers and carrots, and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes, until tender-crisp. Season with salt and pepper.

  5. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.
