How To Make Spanakopita
Who says vegetarians don’t get to enjoy savory meals? A taste of these authentic vegetarian recipes will make you change your mind. So, you just might want to go vegetarian after your first bite.

Ingredients
- 10 oz spinach, cooked and squeezed dry
- 4 oz feta cheese, crumbled
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 8 sheets phyllo pastry
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large bowl, combine the cooked spinach, feta cheese, dill, parsley, green onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.

Place one sheet of phyllo pastry on a clean surface and brush it with melted butter. Repeat with three more phyllo sheets, layering each one and brushing with butter.

Spread half of the spinach and cheese mixture evenly over the layered phyllo sheets.

Layer four more sheets of phyllo pastry, brushing each one with butter.

Spread the remaining spinach and cheese mixture over the second layer of phyllo pastry.

Layer the last four sheets of phyllo pastry, brushing each one with butter.

Trim any excess phyllo pastry from the edges and tuck the edges in to create a neat package.

Brush the top layer of phyllo pastry with butter.

Use a sharp knife to score the top layer of phyllo pastry into squares or triangles.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the phyllo pastry is golden brown and crispy.

Allow to cool slightly before serving.
