How To Make Patty Melt Toasties

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 8 slices rye bread
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • Butter, for spreading

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, onion, garlic, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Mix well.

  2. Shape the meat mixture into 4 patties.

  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.

  4. Remove the patties from the skillet and set aside.

  5. Spread butter on one side of each slice of rye bread.

  6. Place 4 slices of bread, butter side down, on a griddle or another skillet over medium heat.

  7. Top each slice with a patty and a slice of Swiss cheese.

  8. Place the remaining bread slices, butter side up, on top of the cheese.

  9. Cook for about 2-3 minutes per side, or until the bread is toasted and the cheese is melted.

  10. Remove from heat and serve hot.
