How To Make Nankhatai

A delicious Indian biscuit made with cardamom and butter, perfect for tea time.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • Chopped pistachios for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the cardamom powder and mix well.

  4. Sift in the flour and baking powder into the bowl and mix until a soft dough forms.

  5. Divide the dough into small equal-sized balls and flatten them slightly with your palm. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Garnish each biscuit with a sprinkle of chopped pistachios.

  7. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown around the edges.

  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool completely before serving.
