Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 15 minutes
Total: 30 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In a separate small bowl, mix together the sugar and cinnamon.

  3. In a saucepan, bring the water and milk to a boil.

  4. Add the dry ingredients to the saucepan and stir until the dough forms a ball.

  5. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

  6. Transfer the churro dough to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip (or a plastic bag with the corner snipped off) and pipe 6-inch long churros directly into the hot oil.

  7. Cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.

  8. Remove the churros from the oil with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain.

  9. Roll the churros in the cinnamon sugar mixture.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy your Del Taco style churros!
