How To Make Anise Ice Cream Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tbsp anise extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, milk, sugar, anise extract and salt. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved.
  2. In a bowl, whisk egg yolks until pale yellow in color.
  3. Slowly pour the hot cream mixture into the egg yolks, whisking continuously.
  4. Return the mixture to the saucepan and cook over low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and coats the back of a spoon.
  5. Strain the mixture through a sieve and let it cool completely.
  6. Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  7. Transfer the ice cream to a container and freeze for at least 2 hours before serving.
