How To Make Instant Coffee Creme Brulee

Sweet, rich and satisfying dessert infused with flavorful coffee and crispy caramel layer on top.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp instant coffee powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 4 egg yolks
  • 4 tbsp brown sugar for caramelizing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F.

  2. In a saucepan, heat heavy cream over medium heat until steaming.

  3. Remove from heat and stir in granulated sugar, instant coffee and vanilla extract until sugar has dissolved.

  4. Beat egg yolks in a separate bowl and gradually pour in the coffee mixture while whisking constantly.

  5. Divide the mixture evenly among four ramekins.

  6. Place ramekins in a baking dish and fill it with hot water 1/2 way up the sides of the ramekins.

  7. Bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes or until the edges set but the center is still wobbly.

  8. Remove from the oven and let it cool.

  9. Cover each ramekin with brown sugar and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the top until golden and crispy.

  10. Serve and enjoy!
