Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of cocoa powder
  • 1/3 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 2 eggs, divided
  • 1/2 cup of dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup of heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup of passion fruit juice
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp of cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

  2. In a food processor, combine the flour, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and butter. Pulse until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Add 1 egg and continue pulsing until the dough starts to come together.

  4. Press the dough into a greased tart pan, making sure to evenly cover the bottom and sides.

  5. Place a sheet of parchment paper over the dough and fill with pie weights or dried beans.

  6. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the parchment paper and weights. Bake for an additional 5 minutes.

  7. In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.

  8. In a small saucepan, whisk together the passion fruit juice, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and remaining egg until smooth. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened.

  9. Pour the chocolate mixture into the tart shell, spreading it evenly. Then pour the passion fruit filling on top.

  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the filling is set.

  11. Allow the tart to cool completely before slicing and serving.
