Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 0 minutes
Total: 4 hours

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 small ripe melon (such as cantaloupe or honeydew), peeled and seeded
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • Juice of 1 lemon

Instructions

  1. Cut the melon into chunks and place them in a blender or food processor.

  2. Add the sugar, water, and lemon juice to the blender.

  3. Blend until smooth and well combined.

  4. Pour the mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.

  5. Every 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape the frozen mixture, breaking up any ice crystals that form.

  6. Repeat this process every 30 minutes for about 4 hours, until the mixture is completely frozen and has a slushy consistency.

  7. Once frozen, scoop the granita into serving bowls or glasses and serve immediately.
