Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- Vegetable oil, for frying
- Powdered sugar, for dusting
Instructions
-
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the eggs, flour, sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined and smooth.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or pot to 375°F (190°C).
-
Dip a rosette iron into the heated oil for a few seconds, then immerse it into the batter, making sure to coat the iron completely.
-
Immediately place the coated iron into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds to 1 minute.
-
Carefully remove the rosette from the iron using tongs or a fork, allowing any excess oil to drip off.
-
Place the fried rosettes on a paper towel-lined plate to remove any remaining oil.
-
Repeat steps 3-6 with the remaining batter and rosette iron.
-
Once the rosettes have cooled slightly, dust them with powdered sugar before serving.
