How To Make Strawberry & Cinnamon Torte

Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- Whipped cream, for serving
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top and sprinkle with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.

Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the torte to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

Serve slices of the torte with a dollop of whipped cream on top.
