How To Make Sticky Pear & Ginger Cake

Ingredients
- 2 ripe pears, peeled and diced
- 1½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup buttermilk
- 1 tbsp molasses
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.

In a medium bowl, combine the flour, ground ginger, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

Mix in the diced pears, buttermilk, molasses, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
