Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 eggs
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- Food coloring (red, green, blue, yellow)
- Whipped cream, for filling and frosting
- Sprinkles, for decoration
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
-
In a large bowl, beat the eggs and sugar until thick and pale yellow in color.
-
Gradually add the flour, folding it in gently until fully incorporated.
-
Divide the batter into four equal portions. Add a different food coloring to each portion and mix well.
-
Pour each colored batter into separate piping bags or zip-top bags with a corner snipped off.
-
Pipe each colored batter onto the prepared baking sheet in the shape of a log, alternating colors.
-
Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cake springs back when lightly touched.
-
Once cooled, carefully roll the cake into a log shape, using the parchment paper to help.
-
Unroll the cake and spread a layer of whipped cream onto the cake. Roll it back up carefully.
-
Frost the outside of the log with whipped cream and decorate with sprinkles.
-
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
