  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup hot milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs until light and fluffy.

  3. Gradually add in the sugar, continuing to beat until well combined.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the egg mixture, alternating with the hot milk. Mix well after each addition.

  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.

  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  9. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes.

  10. Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
