Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup hazelnut spread
  • 1/4 cup brewed coffee
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for garnish
  • Crushed hazelnuts, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the sugar and softened butter until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk and coffee. Mix until just combined.

  5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.

  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  7. Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for 10 minutes. Transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  8. Once cooled, spread the hazelnut spread over the top of the cake. Garnish with whipped cream and crushed hazelnuts.

  9. Slice and serve.
