How To Make Yokan Recipe

A traditional Japanese sweet made from red bean paste and agar.

Preparation: 10 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 40 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 500g sweetened red bean paste
  • 10g agar powder
  • 900ml water

Instructions

  1. In a pot, mix agar powder and water. Bring it to a boil, stirring constantly.

  2. Reduce heat and add red bean paste. Mix well until thoroughly combined.

  3. Pour mixture into a mold and refrigerate for 1 hour or until it sets.

  4. Once set, cut yokan into desired shape and serve.
