- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce
- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions, then drain and set aside.
-
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Add the diced onion and minced garlic, and cook until the onion is translucent.
-
Season the beef mixture with dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Stir in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.
-
In a separate bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese, and grated Parmesan cheese.
-
To assemble the lasagna, spread a thin layer of the meat sauce on the bottom of a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Place 3 lasagna noodles on top. Spread half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the noodles, then top with a third of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers, ending with a layer of meat sauce on top.
-
Sprinkle the remaining 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese over the lasagna. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 45 minutes.
-
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Let the lasagna cool for a few minutes before serving. Slice into squares and enjoy!
