How To Make Spago’s Beef Tenderloin Recipe
Tender and juicy beef tenderloin cooked to perfection.

Ingredients
- 4 beef tenderloin steaks (6-8 ounces each)
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 sprigs fresh thyme
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1/2 cup beef broth
Instructions

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Season the steaks with salt and pepper.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large ovenproof skillet over high heat.

Add the steaks and sear until browned on both sides, about 3–4 minutes per side.

Add the butter, thyme, and garlic to the skillet and baste the steaks with the melted butter.

Transfer the skillet to the oven and cook for 10-15 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired temperature is reached.

Remove the skillet from the oven and transfer the steaks to a plate and let it rest for 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, place the skillet with the cooking juices on medium heat.

Add the beef broth and cook until it has thickened, about 3 minutes.

Pour the sauce over the steaks and serve.
