Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, diced
  • 1 jalapeno pepper, seeded and diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Brown ground beef in a large pot over medium heat. Drain excess fat.

  2. Add onion, garlic, red bell pepper, and jalapeno pepper to the pot and sauté until soft.

  3. Add diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper to the pot and stir to combine.

  4. Bring chili to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour.

  5. Taste and adjust seasoning as necessary, then serve hot.
