How To Make In-N-Out Protein Style Burger Recipe

A healthier version of the classic In-N-Out burger with lettuce buns instead of bread and extra protein.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of red onion
  • 8 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 4 tbsp of Thousand Island dressing

Instructions

  1. Preheat grill or grill pan.

  2. In a bowl, mix together ground beef, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Divide the mixture into 4 equal parts and form into patties.

  4. Grill the patties for 4-5 minutes on each side.

  5. Top each patty with two slices of cheddar cheese and let them melt.

  6. Place a lettuce leaf on the bottom of each burger bun.

  7. Place a patty on top of the lettuce, then add a slice of tomato and red onion.

  8. Drizzle each burger with one tablespoon of Thousand Island dressing.

  9. Cover with another lettuce leaf bun on top.
