How To Make Friendly’s Fish and Chips Recipe
A classic British dish with crispy fried fish and golden-brown chips.

Ingredients
- 1 lb cod fillets
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 cup beer
- 4 large potatoes, cut into chips
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions

Preheat oven to 200°F and place a wire rack inside.

In a large bowl, mix together flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.

Gradually whisk in beer until a smooth batter forms.

Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat.

Dip each piece of cod into the batter, letting any excess drip off, and place into hot oil.

Fry for 4-5 minutes until golden-brown, then transfer onto a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.

In the same oil, fry the potato chips until golden-brown and crispy.

Once done, transfer onto a wire rack and sprinkle with salt.

Serve hot with the fish and tartar sauce or ketchup.
