Ingredients

  • 1 lb pasta
  • 4 large tomatoes, chopped
  • 1/3 cup fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • Parmesan cheese, grated (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

  4. Add chopped tomatoes, salt, and pepper, and cook until the tomatoes are tender and beginning to break down, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Stir in chopped basil leaves and cook for an additional minute.

  6. Drain the pasta and add it to the pan with the tomato mixture. Toss everything together until the pasta is coated with the sauce.

  7. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
